We advise wedding couples to start about three months, if possible, before the wedding to get your dance on! Give yourselves as much time as you can, minimize the stress. It isn't hard to learn how to dance, but it does take a minute or two to put it all together.

If you want to do a choreographed dance, roughly 20 weeks is the minimum time required/necessary to get you comfortable and confident. However, in general BWD recommends NOT attempting full-out choreography, as that stress is simply not necessary! Learn how to dance together, and don't worry about planning exactly how the dance goes every second!

All lessons require a full 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Booked time is held exclusively for the couple who books the lesson,, and reserved studio time incurs a fee. (There are only ~ 25 convenient hours, weeknights & weekends, to actually get the lessons in.)

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are charged the full amount for that lesson.

A private lesson guarantees optimal individual attention from your instructor, however a private room is NOT guaranteed. Instructors take turns with the music.

You will have an AMAZING dance, with several great first dance specific moments including a beginning,  an ending, plus possibly a dip and... well, whatever you want! But start out simply learning how to move together, as one unit.

Professional performers spend hundreds of hours preparing a single dance!

And while a First Dance is inevitably a performance, we recommend keeping in mind that YOUR dance is at least as much a private moment for you (you HAVE just gotten married!) as a showcase! Relaxation and ease, doing simple steps with sensuality and elegance along with some First dance specific elements, is generally a good initial goal when your time is limited and your focus split between the hundreds of things all wedding couples have on their plates.

If you do want full choreography, we can definitely also help you out, but be prepared to devote a little time to the project!
